What is veganism?

Veganism or veganism (veganism) is the most rigid form of vegetarianism. Vegans completely exclude from the diet products that in any way concerning the animal world (fall under the prohibition of meat, fish, eggs, dairy products, etc.). In General, not welcome everything to do with the murder and exploitation of animals.

in Addition to the General concept of "veganism" there are versions of this movement: the raw food diet and fructarians. The first option eliminates any heat treatment and the second involves eating alone fruits.

the Term "vegan" appeared in 1944. Initially, the vegetarians had adhered to roughly the same restrictions as modern vegans. Then came the separation: part vegetarians chose to abandon overly strong restrictions (in the diet appeared eggs, dairy products, honey), but there were also those who were faithful to the ideals.

Over time, there are new varieties of vegetarianism (ovo-lacto-vegetarianism, veganism, pollotarians, etc.).

The philosophy of veganism

Veganism is a real philosophy. For example, vegans don't drink milk because cows are kept in captivity, besides the constant milking is not normal for the animals condition. Eggs they do not use due to the content of laying hens in captivity on factory farms. Many vegans do not eat honey because it takes away from the bees.

the Representatives of this trend do not wear leather, fur, silk. They do not attend performances involving animals don't use cosmetics tested on animals.

Excludes products a composition which contains components derived from animal products (glycerol, gelatin, etc.). Vegans do not drink wines clarified with egg white or gelatin.

Vegan diet for weight loss

People who adhere to a vegan diet, are deficient in some nutrients, particularly vitamin B12. This leads to the development of a number of problems (these include anemia, nervous disorders, etc.).

Adhering to this diet should monitor their health and use of vitamin supplements (it is important to remember that the drugs in gelatinous capsules will not fit "the ideological beliefs")
