Interesting and easy to prepare, moderately sweet, cardamom lends its flavor and finish. Nothing fancy, but it has taken its place in our kitchen.
Ingredients for Kenyan delicacy "Mandazi"
- Cardamom - 5 PCs
- Brown sugar - 70 g
- Vegetable oil - 200 g
- Flour - 450 g
- Baking powder (baking powder) - 1 tbsp
- Chicken egg - 1 piece
- Milk - 220 ml
Step by step instruction of cooking Kenyan delicacy "Mandazi"
Cardamom first, you need to prepare: crush and remove the peel. Then mix it with flour, sugar and baking powder.
Add to dry mixture the beaten egg, 30 ml butter, milk.
Knead the dough, wrap it in foil and leave for 15-20 minutes in a warm place.
On a floured countertop roll out the dough to a thickness of 1 centimeter.
Thin glass cut out circles with a diameter of about 5 cm (can be cut arbitrarily).
Fry in hot oil for 4-5 minutes (for deep frying), until Golden color. I fried not fried. Just fry in a small amount of oil in the pan.
Usually "mandazi" served with jam and hot milk with spices. Better to eat them slightly warm.
But still "remains" of dough went in the first place.
