Easter cakes should be sweet, fragrant, Sunny. Try to bake a carrot plaiting of the dough. Lush, fragrant and delicious.
Ingredients for Twist from the carrot test
- Carrots - 2 PCs
- Yeast - 1 tsp.
- Milk - 50 ml
- Chicken egg - 2 PCs
- Sugar - 4 tbsp
- Salt - 1/3 tsp
- Orange zest - 1 tbsp
- Cardamom - 1/4 tsp
- Vanilla - 1/5 tsp.
- Butter - 50 g
- Flour - 350 g
- Yolk egg - 1 piece
- Powdered sugar - 1 tbsp
- Milk - 1 tbsp
Step by step instruction of cooking Twist from the carrot test
Raw peeled carrots grind in a blender. You should get about a Cup (200 ml) puree.
Next, we need yeast SAF-MOMENT.
For the carrot puree add the yeast diluted in warm milk, eggs and 100 g flour. Remove in a warm place for fermentation.
An hour and a half the mass will increase in volume.
Add the remaining ingredients: melted (not hot!) butter, salt, sugar, vanilla, cardamom and orange zest. Gradually pouring flour, knead the dough. Flour may need more or less. The finished dough should not stick to hands. Remove it in a warm place for proofing.
The dough should rise two times.
Abenaim it and roll out into a circle with a thickness of about 7-10 mm. Cut in a spiral to get a long burn.
The most interesting begins. Weave.
Treat the dough gently, so that the wiring is not stretched.
It turns out a neat braid. By the way, before you start the test, you can practice with a belt, for example.
Cover with a towel and allow to rest for another 30 minutes.
Mix with a fork yolks, milk and sugar. This mixture lubricates the workpiece.
In my oven the baking process took 30 minutes at 200 degrees.
