Fragrant and soft braided line a perfect addition to a morning Cup of coffee... Very soft and pliable dough...
Ingredients for Braid "Holiday"
- Milk - 150 ml
- Yogurt - 100 ml
- Yeast - 7 g
- Sugar - 4 tbsp
- Salt - 1 tsp.
- Vegetable oil - 6 tbsp.
- Flour - 500 g
- Cinnamon - 2 tsp.
- Powdered sugar - 35 g
- Water - 1 tbsp
Step by step instruction of cooking Braid "Holiday"
Yeast SAF-Moment love, therefore always take a big pack at 500g
In 100ml warm milk, add 1H. L. sugar and yeast, leave for 15 minutes so that the yeast is "alive".
Then add the remaining milk and the sugar, salt, yogurt, egg, 3st liter of vegetable oil, all mix well. Small portions we pour the flour and knead soft dough. Add in another 3st liters of vegetable oil and knead further.
The dough is soft, elastic, slightly sticky. Put test in the package and put them in the fridge for 1.5 hours
Take the dough from the refrigerator and divide into 2 parts. The second half returned to the refrigerator. From this number we get 2 braids for 400g
Roll the dough into the reservoir.
The surface lubricated with oil (vegetable or melted butter). Pour mixture of cinnamon and sugar, turn the layer into a roll
The roll is shifted to the parchment ( I have a silicone Mat), scissors make cuts at an angle, with a thickness of 1cm (not cutting the roll to the end)
"Leaves" stacked in different directions
Cover with a towel and leave for 15 minutes for proofing.
Next, grease and bake at 180C for 15-20 minutes, until Golden brown
Hot braid lubricated with glaze (powdered sugar + water)
