Mammy and Siwa

These sweets are most often made only on holidays. Mammy is a carrot stuffed with walnuts, and Siwa (siwa) - stuffed with dates, and the dough is very delicate and crumbly.
Ingredients for Mammy and Siwa
- Semolina - 1 kg
- Melted butter - 2 stack.
- Water - 1 Cup.
- Leavening agent - 2 tsp.
- Vanilla sugar - 1 Pach.
- Nuts - 500 g
- Date - 700 g
- The sugar syrup
- Powdered sugar - 200 g
Step by step instruction of cooking Mammy and Siwa
Mix the semolina with the butter, baking powder, vanilla sugar. Mix well. The dough is elastic, gradually add water and knead. Check the elasticity: of the test, you can do this a Cup. Leave the dough to rest for an hour and a half.
Nuts, I have pistachios, grind them and mix with syrup to obtain a homogeneous mass (small nuts - pistachios or pine can not grind, but just to pour the syrup and mix well). Dates are exempt from stones and stems and mince (!) 2-3. Do not use blenders, and similar things can burn! (my personal experience, thank God, all remained intact). I have purchased pasta.

Siwa decorate with a fork or use cookie cutters with piston.
Bake on baking sheets lined with paper (no greasing is not necessary), pre-heated to the max the oven for 10-15 minutes, they should become slightly browned.
