Ingredients for Baked meatballs with feta
- Lamb - 700 g
- Chicken egg - 1 piece
- Bread - 150 g
- Basil - 1 tsp.
- Feta - 200 g
- Olive oil - 1 tbsp
- Tomatoes in own juice - 500 g
- Onion - 1 piece
- Garlic - 1 tooth.
- Olive oil - 2 tbsp
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Step by step instruction of cooking Baked meatballs with feta
Lamb ( or other meat) mince. White bread, stale soak in warm water, wring out and send in a meat grinder.
Onion and garlic finely chop, three minutes, sauté in olive oil.
Mix the minced meat with egg, Basil, onion and garlic, pepper and salt to taste. Mince and knead thoroughly.
Form of minced meat balls with a diameter of about 5-6 centimeters.
Feta cheese cut into cubes. In each ball make a hole, place a cube of Feta, to smooth the ball surface.
The balls spread on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated 180 degree oven for 30-40 minutes. Or fry each ball in butter.
For the sauce finely chop the onion and garlic three minutes fry in olive oil.
Add canned tomatoes, pepper and salt to taste, simmer the sauce for 15 minutes.
Baked meatballs to put in a deep pan or flameproof dish.
