Ingredients for Oatcakes
- Flour - 220 g
- Oat flakes - 140 g
- Yeast - 25 g
- Water - 160 ml
- Sugar - 1 tsp.
- Salt - 1/2 tsp.
- Vegetable oil - 2.5 tbsp
Step by step instruction of cooking Oatcakes
The flakes break into a blender carefully.
Dissolve yeast in warm water.
In a large bowl mix the sifted flour and crushed cornflakes.
Add the butter, sugar, salt, diluted yeast and knead the dough.
The dough will soft and slightly sticky.
Cover the dough with a towel and put the heat on for 1.5 hours.
Coming up the dough abenaim a couple of times and divide into 6 parts.
Hands grease with vegetable oil and from each piece of dough moldable pellet, of a thickness not exceeding 1 cm. Edges make thicker middle thinner.
In a pan pour oil and heated it thoroughly.
In hot oil drop scones and fry for 2 minutes on each side.
