Rice balls or onigiri is a dish comes to us from Japanese cuisine. Varieties of this dish a lot and it is cooked with different fillings. Today I made rice balls with herring in wine sauce. Onigiri means "compress" and so the rice in the cooking process shrink, that is, give it the form of balls. The recipe is simple, requires no special skills of cooking. Delicious and low-calorie sushi balls are useful and complement any salad for the holiday table.

For these balls I used herring in wine sauce. It is possible to buy ready-made, and can be done.
The wine bring to boil vinegar, sugar, cloves, Bay leaf, pepper and mustard. Onions cut into rings and simmer in wine 5 minutes. Herring fillet cut and put in the cooled marinade. Leave the ingredients in an enamel saucepan or in a glass jar for 1-2 days.
For balls we need the rice round and I took the Kuban.
