Today again, I experimented with tortillas, this time the dough with the addition of couscous, and flatbreads flavored with aromatic spices set - seetaram! It is very fragrant, tender and flavorful! Welcome aboard!
Ingredients for Cakes with couscous
- Couscous - 70 g
- Water - 230 ml
- Yeast - 1 tsp.
- Sugar - 1 tbsp
- Salt - 1.5 tsp.
- Flour - 200 g
- Olive oil - 3 tbsp.
- Spices - 2 tbsp
Step by step instruction of cooking Cakes with couscous
Couscous pour into a bowl and pour boiling water, cover, dissolve yeast in the Cup with the sugar and 50 ml warm water and leave it for 10 minutes.
In a large bowl pour the flour, salt, pour the yeast and add the loosened couscous
Mix well, gradually adding the remaining water and 2 tbsp oil, knead the dough. Water can go even smaller ( and maybe more), depending on the flour, but the dough knead with a spoon, it will be sticky and soft. Cover with a towel and put in a warm place until the dough rise twice (30-40 minutes)
Good dough increases in volume
Working surface of table pagpalit a little flour, put the dough, gently punch down and divide into 4-6 pieces, depending on what size you want to get a pellet, I did 4 pieces
Grease the baking sheet with oil or cover with parchment paper, and shaping the cakes directly on it, making hand bumpers
Smear this mixture in the middle of the tortillas and place in a preheated 220S the oven for 15-20 minutes, until desired brown colour the edges of the cakes, it is important not to overdo
Hot cakes out onto a plate or large plate and cover with a towel, leave on for 5-10 minutes
