Fans of baking with cornmeal invited for a Cup of tea with a slice of very fragrant, citrus cake!
Ingredients for Citrus pie with cornmeal
- Flour - 120 g
- Corn flour - 200 g
- Leavening agent - 2 tsp.
- Salt - 1 depot.
- Chicken egg - 3 PCs
- Sugar - 180 g
- Vegetable oil - 100 ml
- Yogurt - 100 g
- Orange - 0.5 PCs
- Powdered sugar - 4.5 tbsp
- Yogurt - 2 tsp.
- Lemon - 0.5 PCs
Step by step instruction of cooking Citrus pie with cornmeal

Mix the flour, cornmeal, baking powder and a pinch of salt.

In a separate bowl, whisk sugar with egg yolks (the whites put into the refrigerator).

Add the vegetable oil and yogurt, mix again.

Add the zest and the juice of half an orange and zest of half a lemon.

Gradually powdering flour mixture, stir the batter until smooth.

The batter is thick, spoon drains. Leave it to stand for 20 minutes. During this time the dough will become much thicker.

Remove whites from refrigerator and whisk with a pinch of salt until stable peaks. Add the whipped whites to the dough. Several movements and mix up them into the dough, long mix.

Spread the batter in the form (diameter 20 cm, bottom covered with parchment paper).
Sent to be baked in a preheated 180 degree oven for 30-35 minutes (readiness check with a wooden skewer).
The finished cake remove from the oven, allow it to cool.

For the glaze: thoroughly mix powdered sugar, zest of half a lemon, and yogurt.

The thickness of the glaze can be adjusted by adding a little more/less icing sugar or yogurt.
Cover top of cake with glaze, allow to stand for another 30 minutes and serve!
