As the name suggests, the soup originated in Hungary, with its ubiquitous paprika, and then slowly "flowed" in neighboring countries and became well-known Czech soup which is sometimes served in a bread "plate". Pour the water or broth, add salt and sugar. I added 1 tsp. of salt with a slide and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Cover the pot with lid, diminish the heat to low and simmer until the meat is tender. Depending on the type and grade of meat this process can last from 40 minutes to one and a half hours. I stewed for about an hour.
