The cherries thaw and drain off liquid. In a pan melt 50 g of butter, add the cherries, icing sugar and vanilla sugar.
Simmer on low heat for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
The berries spread with a slotted spoon to the bottom of a greased form (I have 24 cm) and evenly distribute them.
The remaining liquid is boiled down to syrup, it takes a couple of minutes.
Pour syrup over berries.
Walnuts (you can take almonds or hazelnuts) grind in a blender, but not into crumbs, and felt pieces.
The oven heat to 175 degrees. Sift flour, mix with baking powder, cinnamon, ground nuts and grated chocolate (I used a large grater).
250 g butter, softened beat until creamy.
Gradually, on low speed of mixer, one by one into the oil, eggs, honey (I have lime liquid) and flour mixture.
Pour in liquor (I Bailey), you can substitute it with sherry or other sweet fortified wine.
Mass thoroughly mixed. The consistency should be like thick pancakes.
The resulting mixture is spread on the berries. Pie put in the oven for 50 minutes. The dough rises well.
To top the cake is not burnt, cover with foil. Readiness test with a toothpick to check. The cake to cool in the form.
Put cake on a dish and decorate as desired. I have powdered sugar, fresh berries, red currant and strawberry, cinnamon sticks.
Now about my impressions. Clear aroma of cinnamon, the structure is very delicate and weightless, a good sense of nuts, the taste is sweet, with a creamy hint of liqueur (the sweetness probably depends on the quality of honey and chocolate).
