My almost cousin is in an interesting position. Therefore, sometimes she had a varied gastronomic desires. The night before she complained to me that she wanted cake, and the store such as evil was not! In childhood she loved, and her parents often spoiled sponge cake with cream, decorated with bananas in jello. And now there is this anywhere else! "Nothing, need to sleep and let it be"- with such melancholy eyes she said that I already almost cried! I personally have never seen or tried it, but firmly decided to draw something similar. Did it!!! Such tenderness she did not expect.
Ingredients for Cake "Banana whim"
- Butter - 170 g
- Sugar - 315 g
- Chicken egg - 2 PCs
- Flour - 125 g
- Leavening agent - 1 tsp.
- Milk - 2 tbsp
- Sour cream - 250 g
- Banana - 4 PCs
- Water - 95 ml
- Lemon juice - 1.5 tbsp
- Gelatin - 3 PCs
- The food dye
- Juice - 5 tbsp
Step by step instruction of cooking Cake "Banana whim"
For forms 20 cm
This is my favorite recipe for sponge cake. It is very dense, but porous and delicate. Well raised and then not fall. It is good as a basis to cake and by itself as a cupcake.
Beat butter with sugar, I never get it so that the grains have dissolved. So I just beat 10 minutes until light and fluffy. And recently I became a happy owner of the grinder and now instead of sugar roll in powdered sugar
Mix in small portions mashed 2 eggs, adding a spoonful of the measured amount of the sifted flour to the mass coagulates.
Add baking powder (1 tsp) to the remaining flour. Carefully mix the butter-egg-based flour with a spoon, movements from top to bottom.
Then enter the milk (2 tbsp)vanilla essence (vanilla) (2-3 drops)
The cake to cool in the form and put it on the grill. Often I leave the cake on the night and it... But today everything is in fast mode. Couple of hours enough that the cake is completely cooled, and it can be cut.
And I cut it with a thread. First with a knife make nadziejko in a circle, nadechka wrapped with thread, cross the ends and pull them in different directions. This comes to exactly cut the cake and the thickness as necessary.
The lower layer-the basis for notching the grille (not completely) and soak the juice, in my case "mixture" Apple-banana.
Top cake cut into cubes, place them in a bowl.
Grind the contents of the pan with a blender.
Cook thick syrup of water and sugar, add the lemon juice and mix it with crushed fried banana. I did the immersion blender. Leave to cool.
Blend sour cream (the sour cream fatter, the better, but I had 20%, with it too, everything turned out perfectly) and add the cooled banana mass.
The slices of cake carefully mix with the cream and put on the cake - base.
Flatten everything with a knife and put into the cold for a couple of hours for impregnation and solidification. Later I realized that it is better to do it immediately in the form of detachable.
To conclude our preparation in closed form. Who, like me, there is no suitable size of a split form, I propose the following solution. Dense file to cut along. One of the halves cut sides to make a "book". Wrap the cake halves file with two sides and one edge of the insert slits in the second part of the file and fix with tape.
Soak 3 plates of gelatin in 50 ml of water for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, cook the syrup of water and sugar for jelly.
Gelatin to dissolve in a water bath (or in microwave), mix with the syrup and add yellow dye. I have the gel, 3-4 drops is enough.
The remaining 2 bananas cut into thin slices.
Spread banana slices on the surface of the cake.
Several techniques covered cake jelly. It is not necessary to hurry up or all the jelly will not be on the cake and on the plate. That is why it is better to enter into a split mold before laying slices of cake, thus leaving minimum gaps to "escape" jelly. So, a brush to apply the jelly with a thin layer of bananas (create the film to the rest of the jelly "ran" later), to remove before hardening (10-15 minutes). Once again, a couple of tablespoons of jelly shower cake, paying special attention to the edges to fill in any gaps between the cake and the shape (file).
Again clean in the cold for 10 minutes. Now you can safely spread the remaining jelly evenly across the surface of the cake.
It remains to wait when the jelly hardens completely, to gently hold a warm knife between the cake and the shape and remove the fixation ring.
Transfer cake on a plate, put the kettle, and calls all to the table!
