Love the cakes, especially homemade? Then +1 the recipe in your piggy Bank. BUT: the dough for these gingerbread is not supposed to ripen for a few hours, and these wonderful gingerbread steamed. Personally I have a homemade gingerbread directly associated with the New year! PS I Bought a package of whole wheat flour for culinary experiments, but stalled on the ground almost the entire package was gone in a systematic baking these cakes)))
for New Yearfor Christmas
Ingredients for Steam cakes
- Wholegrain wheat flour - 180 g

- Sugar - 70 g
- Chicken egg - 1 piece
- Hazelnuts - 100 g
- Honey - 1 tbsp
- Soda - 0.5 tsp.
Step by step instruction of cooking Steam cakes
Hazelnut fry on a dry pan, if you want to get rid of the husk and coarsely chop. Although it is not essential – you can chop finely. You can take other nuts. It is possible to exclude nuts. I cooked with hazelnuts and almonds, without nuts, with candied orange peel.
In a saucepan break the egg, add sugar, honey and butter. Place the saucepan on a water bath and, stirring, bring the mixture until smooth.
Add the spices, salt and soda. The mixture should be brought to thick – there will be a thick light foam.
Remove the saucepan from the heat, stir in flour and nuts.
Should get a thick sticky dough. Flour may need less. Took me somewhere in the 160 grams (I assume that due to the fact that they take the eggs are not very large). Once still got all 180 gr, gingerbread cookies turned out thicker, almost like store-bought)) In General, be guided by their taste preferences.
With wet hands roll the dough into balls about the size of a walnut. Put them on the grill steamer. Keep in mind that the cakes will increase in size approximately in 1,5 times.
After 40 min the gingerbread ready! In a slow cooker, I left them at 35 min. the Dough was enough for two passes. Leaves 11-13 small cakes.
Ready gingerbread cover with your favorite icing – sugar, chocolate, or just sprinkle with powder. Again, it is possible not to cover anything but the glazed carrots do not dry up longer than the "naked".
