Sometimes you want something new and simple to prepare. Try to diversify your menu so that's tomato sauce, which is perfect for rice, pasta or vegetable dishes.
Ingredients for Tomato sauce "Surprise"
- Beef - 1 kg
- Tomato - 5 PCs
- Onion - 1 piece
- Garlic - 6 tooth.
- The mixture of peppers
- Pumpkin seeds - 2/3 of the stack.
- Tomato paste - 1...2 tbsp.
- Vegetable oil - 1/2 stack.
Step by step instruction of cooking Tomato sauce "Surprise"
While cooking meat, pumpkin seeds grind into powder.
Add salt and (pepper to taste) and some water. Mix thoroughly. Adding water, focus on exactly what kind of sauce you want. If you want to see a couple of Islands floating in your sauce, add less water (for consistency, the paste is like a thick yogurt). In this case you will omit the pasta to the sauce with a teaspoon and not to disturb until done.
Fry, stirring occasionally, until the liquid evaporates. I have it took 20 min. Add tomato paste (optional), fry for another minute.
Add the pieces of meat and pour the broth in which it cooked (I have 2 cups). After boiling, add finely chopped herbs to taste (I chopped in a blender parsley, Bay leaf and Basil). Of the spices I added coriander and pepper mixture. As I took the broth, then salt was added.
Boil 10 minutes, add the paste of pumpkin seeds, cook another 5min, stir and leave on low heat for about 5min. Adding pasta, keep in mind that the sauce thickens. Paste if you got more than the required amount, it can be stored in the refrigerator for several weeks.
The sauce is ready! Today I serve it with rice.
